Skirt Hemming – the Right Length with an Even Hem

If your skirt is too long, we hem it to the length you want. We shorten skirts of many types and keep the original shape and drape, so the hem and length are even all the way round. Order online, we pick up at home or work, and send the skirt back at the right length.

A length that suits you

A skirt looks best when it lands at the right point on the leg. We hem the skirt to the length you want and make sure the hem hangs evenly all the way round. If you're unsure how much to take off, give us your preferred length or a measurement when you order, and we'll adjust to that.

Skirts of every type

We hem straight skirts, A-line skirts, pleated skirts, lined skirts and skirts in leather and faux leather. Pleats, bias-cut shapes, linings and leather each need their own approach, and we choose the method to suit the skirt's fabric and cut so the shape is preserved. Lined skirts are hemmed with the lining adjusted in the same round.

Just the length – or more

This service is about the length of the skirt. If the skirt also needs to be slimmer or to sit differently at the waist, we're happy to do that – we take it in at the side seams or change the waist. Tell us what you'd like when you order, so we look at the garment as a whole. If you want to hem trousers instead, we have a dedicated page for that.

How to order

Choose the service and briefly tell us about the skirt and your preferred length when you order online. We pick the skirt up at home or work, or you drop it at a service point or partner store – you choose the shipping method in your order. Once the skirt is hemmed, we send it back to you.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hem a skirt?+

The price depends on the skirt's type and fabric – a pleated or lined skirt takes more work than a simple straight skirt. You see the price before you order – see the full price list on our prices page.

Can you hem pleated and lined skirts?+

Yes. We hem pleated, A-line, straight and lined skirts, as well as skirts in leather and faux leather. Each type needs its own approach, and we adapt the method to the fabric and cut so the shape stays intact.

How do I know how much to take up?+

You can give us your preferred finished length or how many centimetres you'd like taken off when you order. If you're unsure, describe where on the leg you want the skirt to land, and we'll adjust to that.

Will the skirt keep its shape after hemming?+

Yes, that's the aim. We hem the skirt so the original drape and shape are preserved and the hem is even all the way round. The approach is chosen to suit the skirt's fabric and cut.

Can you also take the skirt in or change the waist?+

Yes. If the skirt also needs to be slimmer or to sit differently at the waist, we can take it in at the side seams or change the waist in the same round. Tell us what you'd like when you order.
