Trouser Hemming – The Right Length by a Tailor
Trousers that are too long lose both their fit and a clean look. Our tailors hem your trousers to exactly the right length, whether it's suit trousers, jeans, chinos or dress trousers. Order online – we pick up at home or work, sew, and send the trousers back ready to wear.
Trousers we hem
We hem most trousers: suit trousers, dress trousers, chinos, jeans, denim and trousers in wool and cotton. If the trousers also need taking in at the waist or leg, we're happy to do both in the same round – see alterations & tailoring for the other adjustments.
Original hem and invisible finish
How the trousers are finished matters a lot for the result. We can sew a regular hem, an invisible (blind) hem that doesn't show on the outside, or keep the original hem – for example the original edge on jeans, so the alteration stays hidden. If the trousers have turn-ups (cuffs), we keep them when you want us to.
Suit and dress trousers
Suit and dress trousers need a precise length and the right break over the shoe. We hem them so the trousers fall neatly, with or without turn-ups, and make sure both legs end up the same length. If the whole suit also needs cleaning, we can do that at the same time – see dry cleaning a suit.
How to order
Choose the service and give the length you want when you order online – if you're unsure, you can state the measurement in centimetres or describe how the trousers should sit. We pick the trousers up at home or work, or you drop them at a service point or partner store. Once they're hemmed, we send them back to you.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to hem trousers?+
Alterations start from 149 kr, and the price depends on the trousers and how they're finished. You see the exact price before you order – see the full price list on our prices page.
Can you keep the original edge on my jeans?+
Yes. We can hem jeans with the original edge kept (original hem), so the new length doesn't show and the jeans keep their original look.
Can you take in the waist or leg at the same time?+
Yes. We can both hem and take in your trousers in the same round – tell us what you'd like when you order, and we'll do the adjustments together. See alterations & tailoring for more adjustments.
How do I know the right length?+
You can give the length you want in centimetres, or describe how the trousers should sit – for example with or without turn-ups and how far they should break over the shoe. If anything is unclear, we'll get in touch before sewing.
How long does it take?+
It depends on the adjustment and the garment. You get a confirmation when we receive the trousers, and you can follow the status of your order until they're sent back.
