Taking in or letting out the waist
If you've lost or gained weight, or bought a garment that sits slightly off at the waist, we can adjust the waistband both ways. Taking the waist in works from the existing waist seam, while letting it out depends on how much seam allowance and spare fabric there is inside the garment. We look at what the garment allows and adjust the waist so it sits where it should.

We change the waist on dress trousers, chinos, jeans, skirts and dresses. Different garments and fabrics are built differently, and we work from the garment's own seams so the rest of the fit stays intact. If the garment also needs hemming or taking in elsewhere, we can consider that in the same round – see taking in clothes and alterations.
