Dry Cleaning a Coat – Clean and Ready for the Season
A coat in wool or a finer fabric can't take a normal machine wash, but it needs the right care to stay looking good. We professionally clean and freshen up coats and overcoats so they look good again and last longer. Order online, we pick up at home or work, clean, and send the coat back ready to wear.
Cleaning coats and overcoats
Wool coats, overcoats and finer outerwear should not be washed at home – wool can shrink, felt and lose its shape in the machine. We clean the garment gently according to fabric and care label, remove the dirt and body oils that build up over a season, and press the coat so it hangs well again.
Different fabrics, linings and details
Coats come in wool, cashmere and blends, with various linings and details. Each fabric needs the right method, and we adapt the cleaning to the garment. Detachable fur or trim, belts and buttons we handle with care. If you're unsure what the coat can take, describe it when you order, and we'll assess it before cleaning.
Seasonal cleaning before storage
The best time to clean a coat is before you put it away for the season. Invisible traces of sweat, skin oils and food attract moths and set as stains over the summer – a coat stored clean keeps better. If the coat has a stain, don't rub or wash it yourself; describe the stain when you order, and we'll treat it correctly for the type and fabric.
How to order
Choose the service and briefly tell us about the garment and any stains when you order online. We pick the coat up at home or work, or you drop it off at a service point or partner store – you choose the shipping method in your order. Once the coat is cleaned and pressed, we send it back to you.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to dry clean a coat?+
The price depends on the fabric and garment type. You see the price before you order – see the full price list on our prices page.
Can I wash a wool coat at home?+
We don't recommend it. Wool can shrink, felt and lose its shape in the machine, and a lined or structured garment can be ruined. Wool coats and finer overcoats should be professionally cleaned.
When should I clean my coat?+
Ideally before you put it away for the season. That way it's stored clean, keeps better and doesn't attract moths. You get a confirmation when we receive the garment and can follow the status of your order.
Can you remove a stain on the coat?+
We treat stains according to type and fabric. Don't rub or wash the stain yourself – describe it when you order, and we'll choose the right method. Some stains can be removed completely, others reduced, depending on what it is and how long it has been there.
Can you waterproof or repair the coat at the same time?+
Yes. If the coat needs waterproofing, a new zipper or a small repair, we can do that at the same time as the cleaning. Tell us what you'd like when you order.
